I have been learning a lot about repentance over the past year. Repentance is a funny word and it certainly means different things to different people. I think a lot of Christians see no need for repentance, and there are some out there who would argue that speaking of repentance means a lack of "true" understanding of the gospel! streamed conference call ow far away we have drifted from the truth! "Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel." Mark 1:14-15 "From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.'" Matthew 4:17 Now my goal is not to pick on Brian because I think his aversion to that word is consistent with the majority of modern-day evangelicals. We simply do not like the word repent.
